FASHION - STYLE - LIFE
Everyone who knows me will tell you I have a little bit of a problem with buying new shoes, I'm a little shoe obsessed. If I find a pair that are really comfortable I tend to buy them in more than one colour-way. I think having great shoes that are comfy is really important as it enables you to do whatever you like. When I'm styling an outfit or choosing what to wear I always build the outfit around a cracking pair of shoes.
I wanted to give you a run down of my top 5 shoe purchases this season from the party shoes, to trainers and boots.
The Converse 'Holiday Nudes Collection'. £54.99
I think pretty much most people have owned a pair of Converse in their lifetime (except my mum). I've got pair of classic white canvas high tops, and a pair of lower white canvas. I have always found converse too flat to wear for walking long distances but this didn't put me off as I love the style of them. I tried a pair of these converse on the first time the collection came out and didn't buy them. When I tried to get them they were sold out as they're only exclusive to 'Office' so I was so gutted. When the range came out again I jumped at the chance of getting them. I'm not sure what it is about these converse they seem so much more comfortable than my other ones. I think they may have changed the material of the insole however that might be in my head. The leather uppers are super soft, so would choose leather over canvas in future. I'm a sucker for rose gold so the metal work on the shoes really sold them to me, they're beautiful. As these converse are a little more special I feel like I can dress them up and don't feel too super casual in them. Teamed together with skinny jeans that I basically live in and a relaxed tee and a bomber these shoes are just super cool. Love them so much.
Jeans and Bomber - River Island, and T-Shirt - Adidas.
The Chelsea Boot - Clarks (Taylor Shine) £65
Everyone needs a Chelsea boot for the season, I chose these from Clarks as I had a pair in Grey last year and they were like wearing slippers. What a dream. I found anyone can wear these no matter what age, my 13 year old cousin Liv has them, my grandma and my sister have them in various colours. I went for the black and the dark tan this year as I know how comfy they are and they sit well with my skinny jeans. I like to wear my jeans rolled up just above the boot and always have a touch of ankle on show, this makes my legs look a little longer, which is a great tip for any fellow shorties. I find that the black are quite smart, you could dress them up if you were hitting a bar after work. You could pair them with a pair of black wet-look jeans, grey cropped jumper and a tailored smart jacket, for a smart casual look.
Coat - Dorothy Perkins, Jeans - River Island and Jumper - Warehouse.
My smart Boots- Clarks (Barley May) £65
The block heel suede and velvet ankle boots have been in all the stores this season, I love them. I purchased these again from Clarks because it was the colour that grabbed me. I've never had a pair of burgundy/plum boots before and thought they would be quite versatile with my wardrobe for this season. The real suede leather is super soft and they have some great padding inside so I can really walk in these all day. The are really smart and I usually wear with River Island Molly jeans as they sit really nicely inside the boot. These look great with dresses and A-line skirts too. They sold out pretty quick but you might be able to get them in Clarks stores.
I have been wearing these non-stop. I have paired these with a light jumper blue jeans and warm biker for a smart/casual look. Great for meeting your friend for lunch. I have also dressed them up with wet-look black jeans and a cropped grey jumper for a day to evening look.
Grey Jumper - Warehouse, Jeans - River Island, Coat - Primark, Beige Jumper - H&M and Backpack - Paul's Boutique.
VANS OLD SKOOL Black&White. £52
I purchased these at the start of the season because I just wanted something casual for kicking around. I feel like everyone is wearing these at the moment and they can be styled with lots of different garments. I've had a few pairs of Vans in the past which I do still wear in the summer months, but love these because they have a darker colour way. The old skool range are great as they have a padded cuff, I just feel they fit a lot better. As you can tell I'm a sucker for comfy shoes. I went for the classic black and white as they go with everything. Love wearing these with high waisted MOM style jeans with a chunky knit again or a casual T-Shirt. These are so easy to style and take no effort at all, I've chosen black skinny jeans and an oversized Top Shop jumper.
The Party Shoe - Clarks(Gabriel Dawn) £26 sale!
So I wanted a party shoe with a block heel, I have already featured these in a previous post. Last year my stiletto got caught in a drain, not a good look, so now I'm all for chunky shoes. I Saw a few I liked whilst I was shopping around and I wasn't sure if I wanted a shoe or an ankle boot. I decided on a shoe and saw these. Really love the retro feel of them and thought they'd go perfectly with any party outfit, a dress or jeans. They have a 10cm heel so they're pretty high however they have a stacked platform at the front with lots of cushioning inside. I can walk and dance in these all evening and there is no need for me to walk home without shoes which is my usual trick so I would suggest checking them out. Like I said previously I've paired these with a LBD, black tights and a fur bomber, but you could also wear with a pair of wet-look jeans, top and a choker. Bag featured in from BooHoo, love the fringing, Jeans from River Island, Cami from George (Asda) and blazer from Top Shop.
Thanks for reading, I can't wait to see what footwear Spring/Summer17 will bring us.
